Odgerel (or Odger, for short) is the famed Warrior of Light, possessing both Hydaelyn's Blessing of Light and the power of the echo that grants her visions of the past.
Appearance
Odgerel is a xaela au ra with dark scales and pale pink skin. She has darker golden eyes with glowing gold limbal rings. Her hair is mostly ashy brown with some turquoise ends, usually in a short and (as of mid-Stormblood onwards) somewhat disheveled style. She has a small chest and fairly muscular build, despite her small stature.
Personality
Odgerel has an impulsive and extroverted personality, with a strong desire to protect others. They enjoy being around people and fear being alienated and alone. Once they set their mind to something, they have unparalleled perseverance to see it through.
Origin
Odgerel (Starlight) was born into the Malqir tribe in the western Azim Steppe. Her mother had been a warrior of the Dotharl tribe until marrying her father and joining the Malqir tribe, becoming the strongest warrior among the Malqirs. Her mother had multiple failed pregnancies and unfortunately passed away while giving birth to her only child, Odgerel. While she still had her father, Odgerel was also raised by the entire Malqir tribe, considering the older children her "brothers" and "cousins" regardless of blood relation.Odgerel learned to fight from roughhousing and playfighting with the older children. She seemed to have a warrior's spirit more than anyone else in the tribe, and as she entered her teen years, she also grew restless with wanderlust. She got permission from her father to leave the tribe, and spent her early adulthood traveling Othard and witnessing the horrors of the Imperial rule. From Othard she traveled to Kugane, to Limsa Lominsa, and eventually found her way to Vesper Bay and Ul'dah.
Pre-ARR
It was in Ul'dah when the meager amount of gil that Odgerel possessed finally ran out. Knowing they had both a particular fondness and affinity for fighting, Odgerel signed up for the Gladiator's guild and began training and fighting in the Coliseum. They did well in their matches, and eventually became a "wild child" around Ul'dah--drinking, partying, hooking up with fans, and getting into the occasional bar fight that Mylla had to bail them out of. It wasn't until ex-gladiator Aldis returned to Ul'dah that they began to clean up their act and vow to behave in a way that was worthy of other's respect and trust.
Cid nan Garlond. current love interest.
Cid and Odgerel became easy friends during their time uncovering his identity and confronting Garuda, and their friendship only continued to bloom every time they saw each other from then on. Cid became aware of his own feelings in HW, but didn't act on them because Odgerel was grieving at the time. Odgerel realized their own feelings more slowly, and became hesistant to approach Cid like her other flings after realizing she wanted a real relationship. They finally got together after defeating Omega, and have been together ever since.
Haurchefant Greystone. best friend.
After taking them in at Camp Dragonhead, Haurchefant quickly became not only a trusted ally, but a good friend to Odgerel. He was one of the first people in their life to simply enjoy their presence and not ask anything from them in return since they left the Azim Steppe.
Riol. ex-lover.
Riol and Odgerel slept together once after the first confrontation with Titan in ARR, then established a brief friends-with-benefits style fling after the initiation of the Crystal Braves. Their fling ended on an unspoken note after the Scions disappeared, but the two have remained friendly ever since.

Odger's dad! He's still alive in the Azim Steppe. Never remarried.
Sarangerel Dotharl. mother.
Odger's mom! She passed away during childbirth, but Odgerel was told she was a fierce warrior and protector. Both the Malqir and the Dotharl believe her soul was reincarnated in Odgerel.
